Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Friends:
You should become a nurse or get married and settle down.
How I responded:
My friend wanted to become a manager of a bank. Her family said get married and settle down with kids. She didnt listen to them went to college, took courses in banking and business and now today she's a Manager of Astoria Federal Bank.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I couldn't afford to go to college so I decided to go to a part-time job. My family also helped me out a lot so I can finish but they wanted me to become a housewife.
My elder brother became a doctor and he actually inspired me to become someone which is why I went to school and worked part-time in various places so I can get experience.
