My path in life has been direct
1.
I recognized the need for a college education to advance in my chosen field.
2.
I worked my way thru college by selling clothes in a men's clothing store.
3.
I worked during my last year in college for a local CPA firm.
4.
I went to work for General Motors in their accounting department because the pay was much better.
5.
I left after 3 years because the company was too big and I didn't feel my talents were being used.
6.
I combined my retail experience with my accounting background and went to work for a shop. cent. dev
7.
I worked there for over 40 years and retired last year.

I told them it was important to get my degree and if I did not go to school full time while working part-time, I thought I would not finish college.
