My Day to Day

As the creator of J.R. Stark, a signature info content app, I focus on simplifying life skills for users. My day involves curating concise, practical courses on topics like nutrition, self-reliance, and skill development. I’m also refining the app’s features, ensuring it builds a supportive community for users to exchange ideas and grow together.

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

    I grew up in a high-crime area in East Columbus, Georgia, where I learned early to navigate challenges and define my own path.

  • 2.

    Leaving Georgia with my stepdad’s GI Bill, I sought new opportunities and moved to California to attend Fresno Pacific University.

  • 3.

    Facing financial struggles, I made the hard decision to prioritize work over school, dropped out of Fresno Pacific University, and eventually re-enrolled at Orange Coast College.

  • 4.

    A turning point in my journey came when I joined Roadtrip Nation for a road trip experience, which broadened my perspective and connections.

  • 5.

    Through mentorship and work with community service organizations, I found my passion for serving at-risk youth.

  • 6.

    I overcame homelessness and gained a renewed sense of purpose, earning a kinesiology degree while making the dean's list.

  • 7.

    Inspired to create impact, I developed an app to teach life skills and empower others with accessible, practical knowledge.

  • 8.

    Today, I’m a travel anesthesia tech and community advocate, using my journey to inspire others to embrace their unique paths.

  • I had to drop out of university to prioritize work. I eventually re-enrolled in community college had a 1.2 GPA and was placed on academic probation. I started realizing the value that a good education has and decided to focus to succeed in school.

  • I fell on hard times, struggled to make money through negative avenues, and eventually ended up homeless. Through mentorship and community service organizations, I was able to find a renewed sense of purpose and pull myself back up.
